That doesn’t seem like very high intensity. But I guess after a few minutes, it will do the job. You seem like a very likable kid.

it’s good if it’s working for u

i do two minute intervals on 11mph and 1 minute recovery interval on about 5mph is that good?
actually lolz9464 is wrong, long running is not more beneficial than HIIT, u must work ur heart anaerobically to have a strong heart by strengthening and adding walls in the heart so it can be stronger and avoid having hert attacks cuz it’s strong enough to handle strong contractions, by doing HIIT ur body is more efficient to handle the lactate threshold, the only thing long cardio is good for is if u want endurance in ur legs but HIIT does that job too and for less time, this video aint HIIT

try going 10 seconds at real high pace and then resting 10 seconds and repeating over and over 40 times with a couple of cool down times in between untill you get to 40 total rounds..now thats a real workout!

i agree with uknown786 really no point in spending so much time running unless that is what your training for. In my perspective the video that is being shown here is for people who want to run but dont know where or how to pace themselves to get the results they want. Running is cardio workout, isolating a muscle group now with weights? totally different story. correct me here but i dont think people spend more than an hour doing chest body weight excercises

@lolz9464 very true, no matter what you choose to do you have to be committed and motivated for a long time if you want to see top results.

@uknown786 (cont) my main point i was trying to make was that HIIt isnt some magic way of exercise that many people see it as, people will do it for 2 weeks, see little results and then give up, whatever type of training you do, results come slowly and with consistency rather than your choice of exercise.

@uknown786 I can see youre point, my experience of HIIt is that it will get you better results in the short term, but by building a good endurance base you can set yourself for more effective fat burning in the future, running for me wasnt about fat loss, it was just a very desirable side effect, the opposite is probably true for you, you wanted fat loss, and increase in atheltic ability was a desirable side effect, it all comes down to your background and goals…

@lolz9464 long running may be more benefical but HIIT does the same job, which is burn fat. I don’t see the point in running long distances and having all that stamina unless you are an athlete. Its good that you can run for that long but I just want to burn fat to get a 6 pack showing and HIIT is that fastest way.
@uknown786 (cont) plus if youre doing HIIT on any sort of gym machine, then its pointless, you cant get the proper acceleration of intensity,… plus most people doing HIIT struggle to do 30 seconds at 8mph pace, i can keep 8.5 mph for an hour in a race setting, due mainly to lots of long distance work, you tell me which is more beneficial.

@uknown786: i happen to like running, so i dont mind going at it for an hour. my routine probably has far greater benefits than an average bodybuilding split w/HIIT…
Because i train smart in the weight room my workouts rarely last any more than 40 minutes, add a 55 min run and thats 1h 35 minutes, you see some people in the gym spend that much time isolating their chests…
about 1 year ago
@lolz9464 so you would rather to 40 min cardio than 20 min? i know steady pace is easier but isn’t going to gym all about pushing yourself. if you want it easy there is no point going in the first place.

I use many different methods to work out, but, HIIT has to be the most effective for me. I have a hereditary neurological disorder that effects my periphiral nervous system, if I work out every day it just makes my weaker. With the HIIT workout, I train 2-3 times a week for 10-30minutes and definitely see gains in strength, endurance and body composition, and it gives my body time to recover. The biggest benefit for me is I can really challenge myself each time I train, a challenge makes it fun.

HIIT is the best way to increase your metabolism, preserve muscle and lose fat. during a bulking phase it’s even good to help building some lower body muscles and it keeps fat gains to a minimum.

HIT is very effective at losing weight … and so is distance running …. I think if true fitness is your goal you will incorperate as many diferent things as you can …. sprinting, hills, endurance, weights, kettlebells, intervals, plyo, and a good diet…..

Proven fact that HIIT burns 9 times more fat. Long slow is good. Not knocking it. But for real weight loss, HIIT is the shit. Now, do some research.

Did you give any evidence? Don’t knock HIIT. Do some research before running your mouth!!!

cont… where the hell did you get the 24 hour thing from? Long distance runing burns fat for 48 hours after exercise. FACT…. see anyone can spount crap and then say fact at the end, doesnt make it true, same with the 9 times statement, simply not true. and your knee and back pain were probably down to poor form, i run on average 30-35 miles a week and i suffer no such problems.

of course ive done HIIT training, as previously stated, is there really any point in trying to have a logical debate with you? you just railed of a bunch of crap giving no actually evidence of your claims.
As previosuly stated, sprinters lift heavy weights, thats the main reason they have muscle, ignoring your stupidly sweeping statement… real marathon runners arent skinny fat, muscle retention and fat loss is all about calories in v calories out.

20 minutes fast is better than an hour slow.
