Victory For British Paralympics 2012 Hopeful.

Brit Eleanor Simmonds, a Paralympics swimmer from Walsall has insisted that 2010 is just the beginning of her career as she created another world record at the BT Paralympic World Cup this week. The fifteen year old set the new world record whilst claiming victory in the 100m freestyle gold medal at the event in Manchester last year and then gave a similar performance in the 200m medley swim race last Monday. With a record breaking time of 3.11.06 minutes Simmonds came in at over two seconds before Natalie Jones who took second place.

Simmonds is determined that she can still improve and feels that she has plenty to give in the future, she says this with the World Championships in Eindhoven due to kick off in three months time. She is expected to have huge success at this event too.

“I’m really happy with the 200m medley because at the moment I’m in training for the World Championships so I didn’t think the time would be that good,” Simmonds is said to have said.

“But I think I’m in good shape for the Worlds – I hope I am anyway. The times here would say that I am swimming fast and hopefully I can get quicker later in the summer.
